Songs reproduced here have descants set by Adrian Stephens. Free license is hereby given to use these descants with appropriate attribution.
These music files were notated using Musictime. I generally played the tune in from a Yamaha midi keyboard one voice at a time. Then I fixed up transcription errors. Then I added the descant by experimenting recording it in real time, with subsequent adjustment done either by the mouse or replaying sections on the keyboard.
A simple hymn takes about 20 minutes to enter and descantify.
A modern song with complex timing takes a lot longer to enter correctly (up to an hour).
The result is converted to .pdf using Jaws PDF maker (as a print driver).
I have about as many again of songs without descants - hence no reason to reproduce them here. These were a stepping stone towards...
We also have Bb intrument (cornet, saxaphone, sack-but, hosepipe...) versions of many of these songs (276 at the last count). I may get round to .pdf-ing them and put them up here, in the fullness of time, with a following wind...
I may consider requests for specific songs. It never hurts to ask.
