Child ProtectionWe take our child protection responsibilties seriously. Unfortunately as a result of this, we cannot publish pictures including our children and young people on the Web. After Friday ClubThe After Friday Club is for young people of secondary school
age who are attached to our village churches, or who live in Girton. (** It is called the After Friday Club, because it is for young people who are too old for the Village's Friday Club - so now you know!) Please contact Laura Staves for more details. Summer Club - August 2003With the theme of BODY BUILDERS in a gymnasium setting, a record number of 59 children were in the Cotton Hall this year 'working out how best to follow Jesus'. Each action-packed day was based around examples from the life of Jesus and His message to us today. Stories were related to videos, sports, dance, craft, drama, puppets and team activities as well as theme songs. The enthusiasm, joy and fun of the whole event gave ample reward to an exhausted team of adults who had prepared everything with such care and foresight. Special thanks goes to Laura Staves, not only for superb leadership and organisation over ten years, but also for teaching us how to continue this valuable outreach to all the children of our village. Iris Niven 'Summer Club this year was great! Some of the adults enjoyed it as much as the children! The sport, the art, the stories, songs and of course the drama were all great. Everyday there were loads of peoples jokes in the post-box. There is only one word for Summer Club. GREAT!!!' Kirsten Marshall 'I enjoyed everything, especially the sports and decorating the wedding cakes. I also liked the idea of the craft being linked to the story. I learned a lot about Jesus and what He did.' Felicity Few I liked the puppets best, especially the little dog. He was so cute. It is a really good way to teach children'. Beth Staves 'I can't choose the best thing about Summer Club this year, it was all good. I enjoyed everything about it'. Shane Holland |
